AtomInfo.Ru, PUBLISHED 09.09.2026

Concreting of the turbine building foundation has begun at the Unit 3 (VVER-1200) of Leningrad NPP-2, reports the Rosenergoatom website.

At present, construction workers have filled the central section of the future foundation with nearly 5,000 cubic meters of concrete mix. This is the first stage of the structural works.

In total, the creation of the high-strength foundation will require nearly 5,000 tonnes of steel rebar and more than 20,000 cubic meters of high-strength concrete.

The work is being carried out in parallel across seven sections. As a result, specialists will create a monolithic slab 2.5 meters thick with an area of more than 8,000 square meters.
