Scheduled maintenance begins at Kola NPP unit 2 AtomInfo.Ru, PUBLISHED 04.08.2026 Scheduled preventive maintenance began at unit 2 of the Kola Nuclear Power Plant on 2 August 2026. According to the Rosenergoatom website, the maintenance will last approximately 30 days. As part of the medium-term overhaul, specialists will carry out a large volume of work on key equipment. In the reactor building, major repairs will be carried out on a portion of the steam generators, the main circulation pumps and the primary circuit pipelines. Also planned are disassembly and reassembly of the reactor plant, nuclear fuel reloading, repairs to internals and safety system equipment. In the turbine hall, steam turbine units, turbogenerators, circulation pumps, low-pressure heaters and moisture separator-reheaters will be overhauled. In the electrical section, transformers and diesel generators will be repaired. Additionally, modernisation of the automatic chemical monitoring system for the primary coolant, as well as the plant-wide and unit DC power panels, is planned.
