WANO-MC experts assess Rostov NPP readiness for upcoming peer review

A team of experts from the Moscow Center of the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO-MC) has conducted a comprehensive assessment of the readiness of the Rostov Nuclear Power Plant for the upcoming peer review scheduled for autumn 2026.

This was reported on the Rosenergoatom website.

The programme included walkdowns of production areas, inspections of equipment at operating power units, observations of the scheduled preventive maintenance at unit 1, as well as meetings with personnel and plant management.

The experts paid special attention to safety culture, nuclear safety assurance and the maintenance of technical documentation.

Following the preparatory visit, a protocol was signed recording all organizational aspects of the peer review. The parties agreed on the size of the expert team and prepared a detailed work plan.
