Rosatom, PUBLISHED 11.08.2025

The rotor of the steam turbine and the stator of the generator set for the innovative BREST-OD-300 reactor power unit have been delivered to the construction site of the Generation IV Pilot Demonstration Energy Complex in the city of Seversk, Tomsk Region.

The complex is being built at the Siberian Chemical Plant (part of the Fuel Division of the Rosatom State Corporation). The power equipment was transported via the Northern Sea Route and the Tom River, with the final leg completed by special road transport after transshipment at a river port.

The stator weighs 245 tonnes and measures 8 metres in length, approximately 4.5 meters in height, and 4.8 meters in width. The turbine rotor, also delivered by water, weighs 98 tonnes. In addition, the generator rotor was delivered by rail.

"The turbogenerator for the BREST-OD-300 power unit is a unique Russian design featuring full air cooling. Its design ensures enhanced safety and efficiency. For the Tomsk energy system, this will be the most powerful energy facility," said Ivan Babich, Director of the BREST-OD-300 power unit at the Siberian Chemical Plant.
