The nuclear icebreaker Vaygach completed the first eastward escort of a convoy of ships this year in the area of Cape Dezhnev on July 13, 2025.

As reported on the Rosatom website, two tankers will deliver diesel and aviation fuel to Lavrentiya Bay.

This voyage opened the northern delivery program to remote areas of the country with limited delivery times.

The convoy began in the Kara Sea on July 3, despite the difficult ice conditions in the eastern sector of the Northern Sea Route, the ships successfully followed the entire route.
