Roadmap for construction of Primorsky NPP has been approved AtomInfo.Ru, PUBLISHED 23.06.2025 The Rosatom State Corporation has approved the construction schedule for power units No. 1 and No. 2 of the Primorsky NPP. The corresponding document was signed by Andrey Petrov, First Deputy Director General for Atomic Energy of the Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation. It should be recalled that the decision to accelerate the commissioning of two power units of the Primorsky NPP by 2035 was made as part of the fulfillment of the instruction of the President of the Russian Federation regarding the advanced development of the Far Eastern Federal District. It is planned to build two VVER-1000 type power units (this is a typical, time-tested development) with a capacity of 1000 MW each. Two 500 kV transmission lines with a total length of more than 200 km will be connected to them. According to the approved construction schedule, the pouring of the first concrete at the site of power unit No. 1 is scheduled for December 2027, commissioning for 2033, and power unit No. 2 for 2035. To date, the Government of Primorsky Krai has agreed on a declaration of intent to invest in the construction of power units No. 1 and No. 2 of the Primorsky NPP with an installed electric capacity of 2 GW and several options for possible sites for its placement have been identified. According to a preliminary analysis of the natural conditions, the most promising of them is the site near the village of Fokino. The final site selection and justification will be carried out during the development of the investment justification for the construction of the Primorsky NPP.
