Fuel reloading has started at the Russian floating nuclear power plant

The first fuel reloading began on the Akademik Lomonosov floating power unit, the telegram channel of Rosenergoatom reports.

The fuel assemblies were loaded into the reactor on the starboard side of the plant.

Earlier, the fuel was delivered to the port of Pevek along the Northern Sea Route in special shipping containers, which were immediately transferred on board the plant upon arrival.

The manufacturer of nuclear fuel for the Akademik Lomonosov NPP is the Machine-Building Plant (the enterprise of the Rosatom Fuel Company TVEL).

It is planned to complete the fuel reloading right afloat by the end of the year.
