Kalinin-2 unit will be shut down for scheduled repairs with equipment modernization

The Unit No.2 of the Kalinin NPP will be shut down on September 30, 2023 for scheduled repairs with equipment modernization.

It is planned to carry out preventive repairs of pumping equipment, turbine, turbine generator. The partial refueling will be carried out.

It is also planned to monitor the condition of the metal of the main equipment, diagnose 3,500 heat exchange tubes in two of the four steam generators.

All work will be carried out by the repair and engineering staff of Kalinin NPP and Atomenergoremont. In total, about 2,000 people will be involved in the repair campaign.
