Communications Division of ROSATOM Engineering Division, PUBLISHED 07.06.2022

In the reactor building of Kursk NPP-2 power unit 1 (with the ROSATOM's Engineering Division being its general designer and general contractor), the last of the four steam generators has been installed in the design position within the established time frames.

The installation of steam generators was carried out by Kursk Branch of Energospetsmontazh JSC.

"The installation of steam generators is an important stage in the creation of the reactor primary circuit system. It opens up a possibility to start the installation of the reactor vessel of the first power unit in the nearest future, and in the prospect - the installation of the main coolant pipeline," said Oleg Shperle, ASE JSC Vice President, Director for Kursk NPP Construction Project.

The steam generator is a heat exchanger with a length of 15 meters and a weight of 355 tons. It is designed to produce steam supplied to a turbo generator to convert thermal power into electric power.
