NRC plans to issue at least six operating licenses for advanced reactors by 2027

The US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) expects to issue at least six operating licenses for advanced reactors by 2027.

In total, regulators plan to receive at least 13 applications for licenses for advanced reactors by 2027.

Such data are provided in materials distributed ahead of the joint NRC-Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) workshop scheduled for March 31, 2022.
