Russia Test Launches ICBM During Exercises Led by Putin RIA Novosti, PUBLISHED 12.05.2014 Russia’s strategic missile forces test launched an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) during a training exercise on Thursday under the leadership of President Vladimir Putin. The RS-12M Topol ICBM was launched from the country's northern Plesetsk space center. The training involved strategic bombers, ballistic submarines, strategic purpose mobile missile systems and other aerospace defense equipment. In addition, the training included the artillery and rocket forces of the Southern and Central Military Districts.
