Russia needs in foreign technologies for realization its nuclear program

Director of NIKIET department professor Yury Kuznetsov commented the information about foundation of joint venture of Russian company Atomenergomash- French company Alstom for manufacturing steam turbine equipment for NPP: "Today nuclear industry in Russia is one of few Russian industries realizing its competitive potential due to knowledge-intensive production. Alstom is the leading company in production of turbine equipment. Alstom goes before of Russian, Japanese American and British nuclear engineers. We should welcome this partner", -he said.

He also added that today there is no production of slow-speed turbines in Russia. During the Soviet period technologies of slow-speed turbines production were concentrated in Ukraine, in Kharkov.

"French technologies are very important for us, since we have a possibility to receive components, which exceed all world analogues", - Kuznetsov noted.

He also emphasized that for realizing the federal target program for development of nuclear power, foreign technologies are sure to be used. It is impossible to fulfill grand plans on developing nuclear power without them.
