OKB Gidropress has developed the SUROK technical solution for the VVER-600S AtomInfo.Ru, PUBLISHED 20.10.2026 OKB Gidropress, part of Rosatom's engineering division, has developed the SUROK (marmot; melt retention system with reactor vessel cooling) technical solution, which is planned to be implemented at the new power units of Kola NPP-2 with VVER-600S reactors. The solution concerns a system for retaining melt inside the reactor vessel. In the future, it may be applied in the construction of all new NPP power units with medium- and large-capacity VVER reactors. Recall that AtomInfo.Ru previously published an article by OKB Gidropress specialists on the safety concept of the VVER-I reactor plant project, which, among other things, mentioned the SUROK system for a small VVER. Topics: OKB Gidropress, Rosatom, Safety Other news: Welding of Primary Coolant Piping Completed at Akkuyu-2 The welding was completed in 73 days. Construction of first NPP in Uzbekistan is launched Ceremony marked pouring of first concrete. Rosatom Enters Indian Market of Additive Manufacturing RusBeam 2800 industrial 3D printer has successfully supplied. |
