The 9th Sino-French Nuclear Energy Technology Innovation Seminar held in Beijing

On April 8, the 9th Sino-French Nuclear Energy Technology Innovation Seminar was held in Beijing.

Bernard SALHA, EDF R&D director and EDF Group chief technical officer, noted that China-France cooperation has been fruitful. He expressed his expectation for broader collaboration across more fields, highlighting the role of technological innovation in driving efforts to make nuclear energy a stable, reliable, green, and competitive solution to climate change.

During the seminar, both sides exchanged views on topics such as nuclear power operation and lifecycle management, small modular reactor (SMR) development, comprehensive utilization of nuclear energy, and AI applications. Three CNNC subsidiaries signed a letter of intent with EDF to join the Materials Ageing Institute (MAI).

During their stay, the EDF delegation also toured the Langfang R&D Center of CNNC subsidiary China Nuclear Power Engineering Co., Ltd. (CNPE) for further exchanges.
