The Second China-ASEAN Forum on Peaceful Uses of Nuclear Technology was successfully held

On Sept 16, the Second China-ASEAN Forum on Peaceful Uses of Nuclear Technology was successfully held. Gu Jun, general manager of CNNC, attended the event and delivered a speech.

Gu Jun met with the secretary-general of ASEAN and participated in a series of important events, including the Entrepreneur Meeting of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Government.

The forum was jointly organized by the China Atomic Energy Authority (CAEA) and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Government, and co-hosted by the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC).

During the forum, the China Atomic Energy Authority unveiled Chinese solutions for using nuclear technology to contribute to a better world. The China Isotope and Radiation Association announced six China-ASEAN peaceful uses of nuclear technology cooperation demonstration projects.

Participating nuclear-related enterprises and institutions signed 10 cooperation agreements with ASEAN countries and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. CNNC also organized an art exhibition and two sub-forums themed on the application of nuclear technology in daily life as well as in agriculture and industry.

In recent years, with the rapid development of China's nuclear energy sector, CNNC has attached great importance to the cooperation with ASEAN countries in the field of nuclear technology.

This includes the continuous promotion of the construction and deployment of the integrated nuclear security platform, the introduction of advanced security check equipment such as the world's first static CT baggage check system, the optimization of the development and application capabilities of various types of irradiation facilities, and the acceleration of the improvement of nuclear energy utilization system to provide comprehensive support for green development.

CNNC is also committed to the talent training and nuclear technology exchange between China and ASEAN countries in the nuclear field.
