The event, themed "green, innovation and future", was organized to demonstrate to the world CNNC's capacity in the whole industrial chain of the nuclear industry, through which CNNC and its partners jointly reviewed the past and looked forward to the future.

As the first worldwide promotional event held by the CNNC this year, the gathering was also a high-end platform for CNNC to better respond to climate change and implement China's carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals, create more development opportunities and further unleash cooperation potential for global cooperation on nuclear energy.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the event, Gu Jun, president of CNNC, said the firm has accumulated comparative strengths in the whole industrial chain of the nuclear sector, fostered professional competence in the design and building of nuclear power units with varying installed capacity and multiple models, and set an outstanding record in the management of its nuclear power stations over the past decades.

Gu added that CNNC will adhere to a development philosophy that features opening-up, cooperation and mutual benefit, conduct in-depth exchanges with its overseas partners on the research and development of nuclear energy, the application of nuclear technologies, the manufacturing of relevant equipment, the construction of nuclear projects, operation services, capital management and talent cultivation, provide its clients from around the world with comprehensive solutions to their utilization of nuclear energy in its whole life cycle, and contribute efforts toward the achievement of green, low-carbon and sustainable development.

During the ceremony, several subsidiary firms of CNNC, including China Zhongyuan Engineering Corporation, China National Uranium Co., Ltd. and the China Institute of Atomic Energy, held separate promotional activities at the event.

This critical analysis of the history, state, and prospects of development of modern nuclear technologies shows that nuclear energy market has practically monopolized the design and construction of only one type of reactors (95% of NPPs under construction use pressurized water reactors), which necessitates training of focused specialists involved in the construction and operation of those nuclear power plants.
