The incident at Leningrad NPP did not affect radiation safety

The violation on one of the units of the Leningrad nuclear power plant did not affect radiation safety.

The incident refers to the pure electric equipment parts, which is a few hundred meters from the reactor. The radiation background at the station corresponds to the natural values.

The incident was happened on the 4th of January. In the result of damage to the plating on one of the two transformers of the unit, the alarm was triggered. The transformer was disconnected safely.
